When you hear the rally call to be a Future Ready Librarian, how does it make you feel? You may feel discomfort and concern that being Future Ready will require you to change your practice, learn entirely new skills, and do things outside of your comfort zone. Perhaps you feel a bit defensive because you believe that you already Future Ready thanks to your stellar tech-integration skills and the awesome makerspace in your library. Maybe you are someplace in between, not entirely sure what it means to be a Future Ready Librarian. Each of those reactions are appropriate and this session will put you at ease no matter where you fall on the spectrum of understanding Future Ready.

At its core, being Future Ready is a mindset. Understanding and demonstrating your future readiness is a great way to connect with people who may believe that librarians are anything but Future Ready. During this session, we will dig in to the Future Ready Framework and make connections to standards and best practices so you can walk away with clear actions you can take to ensure that you are preparing your students for their futures.
